Plumpton is implementing a Community Service program at the commencement of 2020. The purpose of the program is to support the school’s vision which is based on the premise that excellence comes when students and staff commit to becoming the best they can be, contributing to the local and global community in a meaningful way.
The Community Service program will enable students to build an increased sense of belonging and school spirit where they can fulfil their responsibility as a student, by contributing positively as a Safe Respectful Learner to the school community. Students will be able to engage in the program voluntarily to support other initiatives they may be participating in such as the Duke of Edinburgh International Award Scheme. In addition, students who choose to demonstrate behaviours / actions that are contrary to their responsibility and the schools vision of being a Safe Respectful Learner will be required to participate in activities that improve relationships and the school’s physical and learning environment.
The program will run on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon between 2:45-4:00pm. During this time the Community Service Coordinators Mr Duic and Mr Cabrera will support your son/daughter to develop positive behaviours. This will support their learning and wellbeing so they can be the best that they can be, contributing individually and collaboratively.
Should your son/daughter be involved in the program they will receive a permission note that will require your signature. The permission note is to be returned to the Front Office the following day.
If you have any queries, please contact either Mr. Duic, Mr. Cabrera or a Deputy Principal at school on 9625 7020.
Regards, Tim Lloyd
