Year 10 students presented the Plumpton GAT programs to Plumpton Public School. Students from Plumpton HIgh School, Plumpton, Glendenning and William Dean Public Schools can enrol. Courses run after school between 3-5pm at Plumpton High School. Applications will close on Thursday 13 February with classes commencing from Monday 24 February.
The programs allow students to follow a pattern of study from Year 5 to the HSC in Year 12. The programs are taught by expert teachers that in most instances have other qualifications such as Forensic Science and Engineering.
These programs have been running for 5 years and constantly evolve to ensure students are learning the skills essential to succeed in school and the capabilities necessary to be successful at University, an Apprenticeship or employment. Some of these essential skills include; leadership, complex problem solving, courage, resilience, mathematical and scientific ability, collaboration and public speaking.
Programs include: Engineering & Technology (Year 5-8), Computer Science (Year 5-8), Robotics & Coding (Year 5-8), Forensic Science(Year 5-8), Problem Solving & Data Science (Year 5-8), Media & Communications, Duke of Edinburgh International Award Scheme (Year 9-12), Student Executive Council (Year 7-12), Dance(Year 5-11), Drama (Year 5-8), Taiko Drumming (Year 5-8), Art & Design (Year 5-8) Music Performance (Year 7-11).
