A huge thank you to Robert, one of our corporate mentors who has supported a number of our students over the last two years. Three of the students Robert has supported over the last 2 years have just completed their HSC – Shaibah, Taha and Azka. All of the students have been exceptionally successful with Robert’s mentoring, enabling them to build skills to support them at school and providing an insight of the world beyond school increasing their opportunities and access to networks of people. Taha, School Vice-Captain 2022 has 3 university early entries offers to study Civil Engineering, Shaibah, Prefect 2022 two offers to study Psychology and Azka, School Captain 2022, awaiting an offer for Architecture. Robert is a Fund Manager with AXA Investment Managers. Robert has another 2 students joining his group heading into his third year of mentoring of 4-5 students each year.
Plumpton High School engages with a number of business partners to support the learning and achievement of all students at Plumpton High School. We need to provide an education that is holistic and prepares students for the world beyond school to be the leaders of tomorrow, able to make a positive contribution to the global community. The Plumpton High School Corporate Mentoring Program has allowed our entire school community to see that with hard work, commitment, determination and intellectual rigor students can achieve great things. As such we are working collaboratively with our business partners to offer a number of mentorships with highly successful people from the business and corporate world to assist students realise their potential.
The mentorships aim to help students realise their potential and attain the necessary entrance results for tertiary education or training. The Plumpton High School Corporate Mentoring Program seeks students who demonstrate significant promise and personal motivation to succeed in their aspirations. We look for students with potential to grow with the program’s mentoring support, and to become leaders who can contribute to society in their respective fields. Mentorship duration are 6 months, 12 months or up to 24 months based on need and circumstance.
