Push-up Challenge – Congratulations Martin
07 Aug 2023
Congratulations to Plumpton High School Student Martin, who led and coordinated the Push-up Challenge across our school The Push-Up Challenge is run by a passionate crew who live across Australia. They think of themselves as small but mighty in their quest to raise awareness for mental health through physical activity. The reason The Push-Up Challenge exists is because of their founder, Nick Hudson. His story is enough to inspire anyone to make change.
The push up challenge ran for 3 consecutive weeks at different locations around the school. In the first week, it was located inside the PE hall, then the quad and finally on the basketball courts.
Students were encouraged to participate in a range of movements including push-ups, sit-ups, squats and lunges. It was awesome to see so many students giving it a go and raising awareness for mental health.
Thank you to the student helpers, for making the event run as smoothly as possible. Thank you to Mr Simonovski for supporting Martin in making the challenge a reality and another and Mr Pagulayan who gave up some of his lunch-times to keep track of the house points!
We look forward to next year and developing ways to get more students involved. Thank you gain to Martin for his passion, motivation and drive to enable this important initiative to take place at our school
