Plumpton High School Commences Term 3 – Reflection and Small Deliberate Steps

27 Jul 2026

Plumpton High School commenced Term 3 with our weekly Whole School Assemble led by our Senior Student Executive Council (SEC) Prefects, Muntaha and Melcam. Senior SEC students lead our assemblies each week as a part of their role in developing their leadership, agency and voice. Their public speaking training replicates that of the ABC journalists with Plumpton having a previous partnership with the ABC and their public speaking coaches training our SEC. Now we have our teachers and alumni using the same training to build their public speaking skills.

Our focus was reflecting on the report students received at the completion of Semester 1, evaluating what successes they had, what were the things that led to the success and how they can translate those into Semester 2 in areas they need to improve. This improvement focus was how to plan and make deliberate small steps each day in each subject area, over time the small steps lead to large improvement, greater success and the accomplishment of dreams, goals and aspirations. We then reminded students of their personal responsibility for their learning, seeking support, supporting others and allowing our teachers to teach. In addition taking personal responsibility for their wellbeing and supporting others with their wellbeing.

Olivia and Alivia, two of our Aboriginal students addressed the assembly regarding Naidoc Week.

SEC students outlined their Book Week Initiative that will occur later this term.

House Captains delivered their House Report outlining events that are running this term and results of recent events. Their roles centre around positive contribution to school culture, increasing student engagement, school spirit and sense of belonging.

KSF International Mathematics competition High Distinction and Distinction Awards were presented to students and celebrated as we continue to learn from the success of others.

Plumpton High School looks forward to another semester filled with success and learning opportunities as we continue our journey to be the best we can be.
