School Development Days Term 2 @ Plumpton High School – Learning, Teaching, Leading

22 Apr 2026

This week, students have returned for Term 2, diving straight back into their learning as they continue their 2026 journey. They have also been reflecting on areas for improvement following Term 1. I emphasised the importance of students taking ownership of their learning, supporting their peers, seeking assistance when needed, and enabling our teachers to maintain the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning. Additionally, I reinforced the significance of prioritising personal wellbeing, supporting others in their wellbeing, and reaching out to our skilled Wellbeing Team when support is required.

Term 2 marks the final semester for our 2026 Year 12 HSC cohort. We wish them all the best as they continue to work hard, work smart, and collaborate to become the best they can be. This cohort has been an outstanding example and role model group for younger students and deserves great recognition for their journey so far. It is crucial for them to sustain their dedication and intensity throughout the remainder of their studies. Maintaining balance is key, including habits that support wellbeing such as regular physical activity, a healthy diet, and proper sleep, to ensure peak performance when it matters most.

We were also honoured to welcome 16 visitors from the Gyeongnam Office of Education, Korea, on Wednesday. Our guests spent the day learning about Plumpton High School. They heard from me and our Head Teacher of Wellbeing about our Teaching and Learning and Wellbeing Frameworks, as well as our school facilities, administration, and financial management systems. The visitors also toured the school and observed many classrooms in action.

The partnership we are developing with the NSW Department of Education International team is raising Plumpton High School’s profile across Southeast Asia. This achievement reflects the hard and smart work of our entire school community over the past 12 years, positioning Plumpton High School as an exemplar within the NSW and Australian Departments of Education, now extending internationally. In May, we will represent Australia through Austrade and the NSW Department of Education in promoting Australian education in Korea and Japan. Special thanks go to Ms Ramos, who leads this initiative alongside me, in collaboration with the Department.
