Year 11 Corporate Mentoring Getting to Know Each Other and Setting Goals

06 Apr 2026

Our Year 11 Early Childhood students from Plumpton High School recently had the privilege of attending the Early Childhood Encounter Day, an engaging and informative event delivered through the Early Childhood Education Futures (ECE) program.

This valuable experience provided students with a deeper understanding of the early childhood education sector and the diverse and rewarding career pathways it offers. Through a combination of practical and industry-focused activities, students were able to connect their classroom learning to real-world contexts.

Throughout the day, students:

🔹 Participated in hands-on, play-based workshops exploring the connection between play and key areas of child development

🔹 Engaged in a panel discussion and speed networking session with local early childhood educators and centre directors

🔹 Gained insight into career pathways, including work experience opportunities and traineeships

🔹 Explored ways to build connections with local centres and industry professionals, supported by RIEP initiatives

The program also included an introduction to careers in early childhood education, followed by interactive learning sessions and valuable opportunities to engage directly with professionals currently working in the field.

This experience has further strengthened our students’ understanding of the skills, knowledge, and dedication required in early childhood education, while inspiring many to consider future pathways within this important and rewarding sector.

We are proud of our students for their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the day and look forward to seeing their continued growth and interest in this field.
