Congratulations School Captains, Prefects and House Captains – Stolls’ Presentation

Congratulations to the 2026 Plumpton High School, School Captains, Prefects and House Captains who were presented their leadership stolls’ at the whole school assembly. These recognise that they have completed their probation period of 1 Term demonstrating their excellent level of commitment to the role and leadership. There are 41 students fulfilling School Captain and Prefect roles in Year 12 and 16 House Captains from Year 11, 4 in each House, with approximately 180 students undertaking roles in the Student Executive Council between Years 7-12.

Their collective leadership is crucial in the continued development and maintaining of student leadership, agency and voice, school culture, building of school spirit, sense of belonging and student engagement. Since implementing the Student Executive Council Leadership Agency and Voice framework in 2017 and the House framework in 2018 we have witnessed incredible growth in positive school culture, sense of community and leadership capacity of students.

This was confirmed in the 2025 NSW Department of Education’s NSW Public Schools Surveys – A voice for students, parents and teachers. The report provides insights to guide school planning and helps identify areas for school improvement initiatives based on responses to the student survey conducted at Plumpton High School in Term 2 2025. Individual school results are compared to the results for all NSW public school participants (in the relevant year levels, based on school capacity for student enrolment) and for a Statistically Similar Schools Group (SSSG). Plumpton High School’s survey results showed the school above both the NSW and SSSG in 11 of the 12 metrics, an exceptional result and a great credit to the students, teachers and broader school community. In some areas Plumpton measured between 8-12 points higher than NSW Secondary schools.
