Year 10 Interview 2 Impress (I2I) Program Partnering with Bain & Company and ABCN

A group of Year 10 Plumpton High School students were thoroughly engaged in essential soft skill development at Bain & Company last week, participating in the Interview 2 Impress (I2I) Program. This is a vital part of Plumpton High School’s Career Path Planning process in preparing students for success in the world beyond school. The group was also joined by students from Colo High School. Interview 2 Impress is a Program designed to equip students with the practical skills needed to engage in employment options beyond school.

Bain & Company specialise in management consulting services, focussing on their clients' most critical issues and opportunities: strategy, marketing, organization, operations, technology, transformation, digital, advanced analytics, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and sustainability across all industries and geographies. They bring deep, functional expertise, but are known for their holistic perspective: they capture value across boundaries and between the silos of any organization. They have proven a multiplier effect from optimizing the sum of the parts, not just the individual pieces.

While most students are taught about interview preparation at school, the opportunity to explore this topic and learn from a corporate employee adds considerable value. The focus of Interview 2 Impress is to allow students to experience realistic interview scenarios in a corporate environment. The session allows students to practice the theory they learn at school by working with a mentor who provides direct and relevant feedback based on their own job interview experiences. Topics covered include effective non-verbal communication, building rapport, a typical interview structure and what sorts of questions to expect.
