The assembly was led by our newly elected School Captains and Vice-Captains and the outgoing 2021 House Captains who introduced the students and conducted the Leadership Oath:
“We, the duly elected student representatives of Plumpton High School, do solemnly swear to uphold the rules of the school, both in practice and in spirit, to represent all fellow students equally, to encourage participation in school activities and to enhance the public image of the school in our honored position of school leader”.
It is extremely pleasing to see 23 Year 11 SEC members showing the courage and determination in seeking to improve opportunities for all youth in our community and build their agency and voice on a personal leadership journey.
Our students are the future leaders of Australia. We ensure our student leadership capacity is built by providing students the necessary real-world industry-based capabilities and experiences, combined with the setting of high expectations and encouragement. Additional responsibility that is placed upon students encourages them to be more courageous, develop greater skills and foster a culture of success. The students that become a part of this team are expected to fulfill their roles with a high level of responsibility and professionalism in a Project Based Learning model.
SEC aims to unite our school by building school spirit, fostering connections with the community and embracing diversity, among other goals. The SEC completed various initiatives to achieve these goals utilising suggestions from the student body and incorporate their ideas into planning and their decision-making.
The Plumpton High School Student Executive Council is a team that empowers students and allows them to be involved in making decisions that will impact them, their environment and their peers.
Once again congratulations and thank you to Mr Temby and Ms Donohue for their ongoing leadership of the Students Executive Council.
Tim Lloyd, Principal.
