29 Year 9 students travelled to the CBD (Barangaroo) for an Origin Foundation experience at Origin Energy to understand the work of and the opportunities within the energy sector. The Uncovered program pitches the organisation/energy industry as an ‘employer of choice’ to the students, supporting students making informed choices about future careers. Students were presented career stories, a tour around the organisation and what Origin Energy offers and philosophy is.
The highlight was the explanation of energy poverty and the building of the Solar Buddies (solar charged little lights) for disadvantaged children to do their homework by when the sun goes down.
