Yesterday, 20 Year 11 students attended a workshop arranged by Beacon Foundation at Fidelity International. Beacon Foundation is an organisation whose mission is to create a job-ready generation by providing opportunities for students to be mentored in a corporate environment. Beacon build connections between industry, education and the community to create real world education that is relevant and engaging. Thank you to Beacon staff Mary-Jane, Sophie and Lisa for all their efforts in planning and organising the experience yesterday.
In partnership with Fidelity International, our Year 11 students participated in the Perform Program. Fidelity International work to build better financial futures for their clients. Their focus is on delivering sustainable investment returns, while managing their impact on society and the environment.
The Perform Program is intended to support young people to feel ready to take up employment opportunities. As well as practical skills, perform gives students a rare opportunity to practice communicating and networking with professional people in a non-threatening environment. Our excellent facilitator, Pru, guided our students through a raft of activities and networking scenarios with 8 outstanding Fidelity mentors (Mel, Andrew, Richard, Winnie, Joe, Gabe, Lex and Shani).
An incredible day and a unique experience was had by all!
