Congratulations 2023 ABCN Scholars – Alice and Isabella

ABCN Scholarship award presentation

Outstanding accomplishment by Alice and Isabella in Year 10 who have both been awarded ABCN Scholarships. Alice and Isabella were presented with their scholarships at the ABCN End of Year Presentation event hosted by Lend Lease at their Barangaroo office. They are 2 of 39 students from 300 applications across Australia to be awarded this prestigious scholarship. This demonstrates their intellectual ability, leadership capacity, determination, courage, community contribution and commitment to striving for excellence.

An ABCN Scholarship entitles Scholars to:

• A senior business mentor selected by ABCN from their network of member companies

• $7000 over years 11, 12 and the first year of further education, training or employment

• Participate in the ABCN Accelerate program

Plumpton High School has proudly partnered with ABCN for the past seven years and is commencing year 9 in 2024. We would like to express our sincere thanks to ABCN and its member companies that provide our students opportunities by opening doors and access to business networks to build their level of innovation, creativity, knowledge, skills and leadership capacity.

Some of Plumpton High School’s ABCN business partners that we work with on a regular basis include Lend Lease, Bain and Company, TAL, JP Morgan, PVH, Microsoft, Amex, Optus, Accenture, Ernst and Young and The Commonwealth Bank. Plumpton students have now been awarded 11 ABCN Scholarships over the last 8 years, which is an outstanding achievement. Students can potentially be offered employment with these companies following the completion of their studies.

Two of our Year 12 students Ayma and Jaron were also selected to perform at the ABCN End of Year Presentation and did so at a level of excellence – congratulations to them.

I would also like to acknowledge the work of our Student Advocate Gemma Avon who supports our ABCN scholars’ leadership and learning journey working closely with them and our business partners. Also thank you to Karlene Rex who contributed to this year’s scholarship process.

Once again congratulations Alice and Isabella and to Ayma and Jaron for their performances
