Plumpton students attend the Sohn Hearts & Minds Investment Leaders Conference, https://www.sohnheartsandminds.com.au/ Australia’s premier investor event. Dedicated to raising funds for medical research, it is Australia’s largest single fundraising event of its kind. The event was held at the Sydney Opera House with Plumpton High School the only school invited to be present.
The one-day conference is where leading international and local fund managers, and influential global thought leaders present their exclusive investment ideas and insights in a fast-paced TED-style format.

Misty Jenkins is a NHMRC fellow and laboratory head in the Immunology Division at Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research. Misty leads the immunotherapy program within the Brain Cancer Centre and is dedicated to discovering novel immunotherapy targets for high grade gliomas in adults and children.
Professor Daniel MacArthur is the Director of the Centre for Population Genomics (CPG), a joint initiative of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Melbourne. The CPG was established to solve the critical scientific, regulatory, and technical problems currently limiting the development of genomic medicine in Australia, and to execute large-scale projects that will establish Australia’s leadership in this field.
Peter Attia, MD, is the founder of Early Medical, a medical practice that applies the principles of Medicine 3.0 to patients with the goal of lengthening their lifespan and simultaneously improving their healthspan.
Some of the worlds investment leaders included: Daniel S. Loeb is CEO of Third Point LLC, a New York-based asset management firm founded in 1995. Third Point invests in equity and credit securities in U.S. and international markets.
Angela Aldrich is the Founder, Managing Partner, and Portfolio Manager at Bayberry Capital, an investment firm based in New York, NY. Bayberry is a long / short equity firm that invests globally through a fundamental primary-research driven process.
Before starting Verdad, Dan Rasmussen worked at Bain Capital Private Equity and Bridgewater Associates. He is a member of the investment committee of the Trustees of Donations of the Episcopal Church, is the New York Times bestselling author of American Uprising: The Untold Story of America’s Largest Slave Revolt, and in 2017, was named to the Forbes 30 under 30 list.
Jun Bei Liu is the Portfolio Manager of Tribeca’s Alpha Plus Fund. Since taking over sole responsibility for managing the Fund, she has quadrupled AUM. She is a passionate, motivated, and dedicated investment manager having built an 18-year career at Tribeca.
