During 2024 our Year 10 students have participated in a yearlong Job Readiness and Career Path Planning Program. This has included Resume Preparation, Interview Skills and Techniques and Mock Interviews.
The final phase of the Program has now been rolled out over the last few weeks. Students prepared their own Career Profiles through The Careers Department. They identified their personality traits, values and skills in order to determine their work style. Work styles were then matched to industry sectors and then within industry sectors, jobs were identified. Each student has a 7 pages report supporting them in conversations with their parents/carers and enabling them to make fully informed decisions about subject selections and career choices as they progress through their senior years.
Students also completed a Year 10 Career Plan 2024, providing the Futures Team with information about student areas of interest in jobs and University and TAFE courses, enabling us to support our students with early entry into University, Work Experience, Scholarship applications to name a few. The Career Plans will also enable to match students to Programs and Events that line up with their goals.
Special thanks to Ms Karan and Ms Avon for leading this valuable initiative and to Ms McKenzie and Ms Gazzera for their enthusiastic support.
