A UNSW Year 10 Gateway Program event had 55 of Plumpton’s Year 10 students participate.
Hosted by our new Engagement Officer, Laura Smith, students were able to immerse themselves in a University experience that included "Write Now" and NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts) Workshops, a Networking Lunch with UNSW Alumni and a Pitch Delivery session (building student confidence and presentation skills)
Students also had the opportunity and great privilege to meet the preeminent Mr Peter Ritchie. Peter was the first employee of McDonald’s Australia and the first employee of the McDonald’s system outside North America. During the 70’s and 80’s he played a major role in every aspect of the company’s development from establishing raw product suppliers to the construction of new stores and the development of training programmes. McDonald’s Australia grew to more than 500 stores and 50,000 employees during his time as Chief Executive.
We were also very fortunate to have Plumpton High School Alumni, high achiever and UNSW student, Shaibah Hussain, as one of our key Ambassadors. What a great role model and inspiration Shaibah is.
