United Way Year 10 Interview Skills Program

Plumpton High School partners with United Way to deliver our Year 10 Interview Skills Program.

Through this business community partnerships, our students are provided an opportunity to experience life in the workplace, mentoring and inspiring them to discover the world of possibilities that exist after school. In this instance participating in interviews with their business mentors.

The day focussed on preparing, creating a lasting first impression, understanding common interview questions, the importance of having questions prepared to ask the interviewer and demystifying the interview process. Mentors shared insights in to preparing for and conducting yourself during an interview. Over 140 students participated during the 8 sessions over 2 weeks developing students ‘Interview Skills and Techniques’. This forms part of our strategic plan in preparation for Mock Interviews in Term 3.

Thank you to United Way, member companies and our mentors Craig Lowe, Simone Bozic, Darren Lowe (Macquarie Technology Group), Charbel Achmar, Rickie Hall and Shaun Canavan (Tech Data) and Matthew Ezzy and Ryan Martin (T Rowe Price).

United Way brings business and communities together, giving young people the life skills they need to succeed. We align school professionals, students and corporate volunteers around the skills and jobs of the future, and we offer businesses the chance to give back to the community in which they operate, supporting their corporate social responsibility goals.
