Students and staff presented a showcase of the Gifted and Talented High Potential (HPGE) Clubs 2023 work this week at the Plumpton High School GAT Event. The HPGE program has 14 different areas of focus where students from Years 5 – 8 and Years 9 - 11 engage. Eleven of courses were on display at the event. Many of the courses are at university level, are supported by business partners such as UBS, Computer Science in School, The ABC and University of NSW and in many instances taught by teachers with degree qualifications in other areas such as engineering, forensic science and international studies.
On behalf of Plumpton High School and personally I would like to express my sincere thanks to the outstanding teachers who deliver these courses every week between 3-5pm (Ms Racela, Ms Caramancion, Ms Henry, Ms Nguyen, Mr. Moon, Mr. Clark, Mr. Eder, Ms Maait, Ms O’Brien – who coordinates the program, Mr. Symes, Mr. Jaswal and Mr. Honeysett) and to our wonderful business partners who support these programs. This enables our students to access opportunities that will support their post school pathways into university and employment. Thank you also to our Futures Centre’s Gemma Avon for organising the end of year event and Priyanka Karan, Kath, Makayla and Les for their amazing work in supporting the event.
