Year 10 students travelled to the CBD for a Beacon Foundation POLISH Program to work on their job readiness skills in a professional setting.
Polish is a powerful, practical program focussed on confidence building. To build self-advocacy, young people learn how to identify and promote their skills to employers. Volunteer business mentors help young people understand how varied a career path can be, how valuable transferrable skills are and what are common workplace expectations. Polish ends with a fun and encouraging ‘mock’ interview session.
To the students, thank you for making Gemma, Carolyn and the school so proud. You conducted yourselves in an exemplary manner and we hope you took much out of the day.
To the Beacon Foundation, please accept our sincerest thanks to all those (Lisa, Pru etc) who put so much effort into bringing such an excellent experience to life.
To the Clayton Utz team, thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful offices, spoiling our students with a delicious morning tea and lunch and to those staff members who so generously gave of their precious time to mentor our students.
This was an experience our students will remember. We are all so grateful.
